Fractured Spine Healed

Laci and I, plus Jackson and Neil, two of our teammates from Bethel, were on an outreach together in a poor neighborhood in Nicaragua. We had been using the standard method of going door to door, fishing for prayer needs for the first two houses. As we approached the third house, I thought to myself, “I’m not really enjoying this very much. Jesus has something much more fun for us.” As soon as I thought this, the Holy Spirit said, “Columna,” which is the Spanish word for “spine.”

A woman named Marta said that she was in a motorcycle accident four months ago which had injured her spine. After we prayed briefly for her twice, she started getting excited because her back was feeling a little better. At this point she went to a shelf behind her and retrieved a large folder containing X-rays of her broken back. One of her vertebrae was completely crushed and she was waiting for her operation.  

“Step towards me across this line,” Laci said, sensing that God was doing something. “When you do, you will feel heat come from your head down your back, and the Lord will heal you.” Marta obligingly did as Laci had said, and tipped her head back, swooning under the power of God. “I feel fire!” she said.  

We briefly prayed one more time and she was completely healed! Wide-eyed, she fluidly bent over and placed her palms flat on the ground, exclaiming to her sister, ”I feel completely different!” The power of Jesus healed her!

Since I’m on this kick of rehashing things that God has done, here are some more for you. We got to minister at a two weekend long conference on the supernatural lifestyle in Bishops Stortford, UK. Many people were healed by God and some gave their hearts to Jesus for the first time. Lots of people got whacked by Holy Spirit and baptized in the Holy Ghost. Among them…

One man testified over a week later to being healed of Bipolar disorder. He said that all the old symptoms were gone and he couldn’t stop laughing all week. It had been so bad that he was going through a divorce because of it, but now it is all gone! 

Many people couldn’t stop laughing for days. 

One woman lost two inches off her waist when the massive tumor in her belly suddenly shrunk. 

Another man’s deaf ear opened. 

Lots of eyesight was healed. 

Legs grew out. 

Years of back pain was healed over and over again. 

IBS was healed, confirmed after a week. 

Multiple cases of incontinence were healed. 

Many many other things were healed. 

Some people were hit with holy laughter for the first time ever, fell out in the Spirit, shook, flopped, and experienced miracles and visions. 

An optician was inspired after the first sessions to be completely unprofessional and pray for his patients. That week he saw several healings, including a blind woman with a completely detached retina who was able to see again after he prayed for her. 

Jesus Heals Through Nomads

We met with a woman who needed healing from an immune deficiency and arthritic hands. Apparently a young, spiritually hungry nomadic believer (we will call him Peter) was also going to come because he wanted to experience more of God. When the woman saw me she realized that she had seen me in a dream, so she knew that she could trust what I had to say. While we were waiting for the young man, I prayed once for her hands. Absolutely nothing seemed to happen. “I don’t want to heal her through you. I want to do it through ‘Peter,’” the Holy Spirit said to me. That was enough for me. When Peter arrived we went up to the top floor of a nearby teahouse. As we sat getting to know one another, the time soon came to minister to her. When I told them what the Lord had told me, I’m not sure they knew what to think. Peter looked at me like I’d lost my mind. “I have no confidence in myself! I’m only a shepherd,” he protested. “I have confidence, and Jesus has confidence,” I confidently asserted, “that when you lay your hands on her, she will be healed.” He obediently took her arthritic hands in his own and prayed a heartfelt prayer. She was healed! He couldn’t believe it. “She can’t be healed!” He exclaimed through our laughter.

Another time, a young nomad gentleman was radically healed by God and gave his heart to Jesus. Just then he laid his hands on a woman afflicted with bad knees. When he commanded healing in the name of Jesus, she was immediately overcome with holy laughter. When she finally regained her composure, she said that her knees were completely healed!

It’s nice to know that Jesus still likes to use shepherds. Some things never change.
